Who is career coaching for?

Career coaching can help when you know you want a change but are unsure which direction to take. It can also help when you have a goal and need to organize the steps between where you are and where you want to be.

Chad’s practice focuses on federal government careers and private-sector international development. His experience supporting returned Peace Corps volunteers also informs his approach to career transitions and translating experience for a new audience. The practice is based in Washington, DC; share your location and scheduling needs when you inquire.

What we can work on together

How the process works

  1. Share your starting point. Tell us what you do now, what you want to change, and any opportunities or deadlines you are considering.
  2. Agree on the support. Discuss the service or package, deliverables, timing, and fees before deciding to begin.
  3. Work through your priorities. Use the agreed sessions and materials to turn your goals into specific next steps.

Choose support for your stage

The Looking for Work package includes a one-hour “6 Steps to Navigating Your Career” strategy session, a client worksheet and job log template, resume or business-plan development, and a one-hour LinkedIn coaching and personal networking session.

For an established professional, the Mid-Career Professional package focuses on communicating experience and preparing for opportunities. The Advancing Your Career package includes an Individual Development Plan and sessions on networking and leadership. We can discuss which option fits your goals.

If your direction is already clear, explore job-search strategy or resume and LinkedIn support. For a reflection exercise before we speak, read what’s driving your next career move.

Common questions

Do I need to know which job I want before contacting you?

No. Share what is working in your current situation, what you would like to change, and any directions you are considering. Clarifying your priorities can be the starting point.

Can you help me think through a move between sectors?

Yes. We can discuss how your experience relates to different roles and how to explain it to a new audience. Chad’s consulting focus is federal government careers and private-sector international development.

How much does career coaching cost?

Pricing depends on the service or package and the agreed scope. Describe your goals in the inquiry form so we can discuss fees, timing, and payment terms before you decide.

What should I prepare for an initial conversation?

Bring a short description of your current situation, your main questions, and any deadlines. A current resume and examples of roles that interest you can help, but you do not need a finished career plan.
