Returned Peace Corps volunteer.
Career guide. A believer in giving back.

Good guidance changed my career.
Now I help others find their way forward.

Chad founded Capitol Career Consulting in May 2021 to make thoughtful, practical career support more accessible. His work focuses on federal government careers and private-sector international development, with support for resumes, career strategy, networking, and interview preparation.

His approach grew out of his own experience navigating a career transition—and years of helping fellow returned Peace Corps volunteers pursue meaningful work in Washington, DC.

The story behind Capitol Career Consulting

In 2011, after returning from Peace Corps service in Honduras, Chad was struggling to turn applications into opportunities. At the Peace Corps Career Center, career development specialist Jodi Hammer helped him improve his federal resume and navigate the search that led to his first FEMA role supporting long-term community recovery.

That experience stayed with him. In 2015, Chad became Professional Development Director for the Returned Peace Corps Volunteers of Washington, DC. He met with hundreds of returned volunteers, sharing what he had learned about federal hiring while learning from their experiences, too.

Over five years on the organization’s board, he also served as Mentoring Director, Development Director, and President. He founded Capitol Career Consulting to continue that work: helping people make sense of their options, communicate their strengths, and take practical steps toward their goals.
